I have been diagnosed with ME.
But I also had untreated severe anaemia for many years caused by endometriosis.
This caused me to sleep 20 to 30 hours at time wake for 5 then back into deep deep sleep.
A truck could have driven through my room and I not woken.
I also had untriggered nose bleeds and fluid from nose.(also symptom of brain damage)
When I asked why I could suddenly read a book after anemia finally treated I was told
I had not got enough oxygen in my brain before due to anemia I had at least 7 years.
I then looked up what else could have affected my brain and am convinced I have something related to lack of oxygen
such as hypoxia. and thats why I slept so long and so deeply almost if not unconccious.

I cant process data at all well now so need supervision. No amount of determined brain excercises has helped.
Especially problems with filing selecting summarizing multi task evaluating and memory.
And ive come to conclusion i must have brain damage as 10 years of effort has not improved things.
Unfortunately once a diagnosis of ME is given doctors are reluctant to find other causes.
I therefore want to save for private MRI 3.0T with several slices of brain photos.
I want a private neurologist to interprett it who specializes in lack of oxygen causes
Because I dont thik NHS will support this.
I can then get carer help as I these cognitive dysfunctions affect both mental and phsyical tasks.

Has anyone advise on how to persuade NHS or how to look up a neuro specialist as I cant seem to find one.
Preferably one who will take me on direct rather than pay for a private doctor referral on top.
Or any other advise realted to this topic?
