Friday- developed sore throat, severe constant headache, and stiff neck
Saturday- continued normal routine but felt very sick, came home and slept
Sunday- went to work for two hours, came home sick, temperature of 104 that night, still with all symptoms of Friday.
Also started coughing, congestion in chest.
Monday- Stayed home from school, slept/watched tv all day, fever, less headache and neck pain
Tuesday- stayed home again, diminishing fever, but coughing still keeping me awake.
This morning I went to school but after two hours I went home because I went to the nurse to get tylenol and they freaked when I
told them my temp was 102.5 the night before. Came home early, slept.

I honestly don't feel too bad. My temperature is normal in the morning, and usually shoots up to
102.8 ish around 7:00. Still coughing, sore throat, some neck pain. I guess overall I'm just exhausted, wiped out.
I feel too tired to do schoolwork very efficently. Got a negative strep test today.

No idea what it is. I could probably suffer through school but I am becoming concerned because I have had this fever
for a few days, though it is normal in the morning. No sexual activity or anything.

Any ideas??

  • This could be glandular fever, tho it doesn't normally include a coughhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glandular_feversymptons include# fever - this varies from mild to severe, but is seen in nearly all cases.# Enlarged and tender lymph nodes - particularly the posterior cervical lymph nodes, on both sides of the neck. (ie a stiff neck)# Sore throat - seen in nearly all patients with EBV-mononucleosis# Fatigue (sometimes extreme fatigue)there is a test for glandular fever. good luck - get plenty of rest and drink lots of water,

  • Where does your cough originate from? Is it a deep cough from around your sternum area of your chest and does it tire you out? Are you coughing up anything? There are some wonderful alternative herbal medicines that my 89 father takes and he is quite healthy. He turned me onto them.'One is called Lomatium Osha and is an herbal formula that helps with immunity. The other is a liquid syrup called Sambucol, which is really good for chest colds. It is made from elderberries. It works astoundingly well.Of course you want to drink a lot of fluids and get a lot of rest. If the fever persists you should see a doctor. It could indicate a more serious infection.

  • The thought of a stiff neck and persistant fever really scares me. My strong suggestion is to go back to your doctor and tell him/her ALL of your symptoms and dont take I dont know for an answer.A fever is always a sign of some sort of infection, especailly one that last as long as your has.Just to let you know as well a fever in most people is higher at night then during the day...that asspect is normal. But if I were you I would demand more tests and make sure you tell the doc ALL symptoms!Good luck and hope everything turns out ok!

  • Have you been exposed to any farm animals recently or drank any unpasturized milk?
