 I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. MY LIVER COUNT IS EXTREMELY HIGH AND I HAVE A FATTY LIVER. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING MY DOCTOR HAS TOLD ME TO DO AND THE NUMBERS KEEP GOING UP INSTEAD OF DOWN. THEY CANT TREAT IT UNTIL THEY KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT, BUT THEY CANT FIND THE CAUSE. IN ADDITION TO THE FATTY LIVER, I HAVE EXTREME ANXIETY ATTACKS, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, CONSTANT AND CHRONIC CONSTIPATION, CHRONIC EDEMA FROM HEAD TO TOE (ESPECIALLY ABDOMEN). MY JOINTS ARE IN PAIN MOST OF THE TIME AS WITH ARTHURITIS. I CANT EAT VERY MUCH AT A TIME BECAUSE EVERYTHING BLOATS MY ABDOMEN SO MUCH. I HAVE MIGRAINES CONSTANTLY, BUT CANT TAKE ANYTHING FOR THEM BECAUSE IT DAMAGES MY LIVER FURTHER. I AM TOLD NOT TO EAT ANYTHING FATTENING, DRINK ALCOHOL, NOT TO TAKE ANY MEDICATION EXCEPT FOR MY BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE, ALL OF WHICH IVE DONE AND THE NUMBERS KEEP CLIMBING. I AM BIPOLOR BUT CANT TAKE MEDICATION FOR THAT EITHER. RIGHT NOW LIFE REALLY SUCKS BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. OH YEA, EVEN THOUGH I AM DEFINATELY NOT PREGNANT, I HAVENT HAD A MENSTRAL CYCLE SINCE MARCH OF '07. IT IS NOW THE MIDDLE OF JULY. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME CAUSE THE DOCTORS ARENT.

  • Have you been tested for vitamin deficiencies? Even if nutrient deficiencies aren't the main problem, your liver being sick might be making your body lose out on some essential stuff. Liver problems can make you not get enough B12, for instance, which might be causing your anxiety, as well as feeding the depression part of bipolar. Heck, it can even help cause constipation.Apparently, constipation can cause bloating. So those two are tied together. Drinking more water can help. You might want to get checked out for food allergies, while you're at it.Also, thyroid problems can cause some of your symptoms, and again, you can get thyroid problems because you're lacking enough of certain nutrients.I really don't know much about liver stuff, but all these suggestions of mine are at least harmless, and may help you. So you might want to look into it.

  • Ask to be tested for AMA anti-bodies. A year ago I went to the Doc with a small tender lump on the inside of my knuckle which had been there for several months. They tested for arthritis via blood test, then through this test found that I had these antibodies in my blood which in turn brought the diagnosis of a chronic liver disease called Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC). The actual cause is unknown, and there is no known cure. It is a rare disease of the bile ducts which effects mainly women, only 1 in 10 suffers are male, again, no-one knows why this is. There are many symptoms and some sufferers have symptoms that others dont. I regularly attend meetings held by the PBC Foundation and the main symptoms seem to be extreme fatigue, itching, sore joints and muscles, bone pain, nausea, sometimes diarrea, and a whole list of others. Everyone experiences different things but it's worth getting checked out as there is medication that seems to slow the progression of this disease, its called Ursodeoxicholic. Before my diagnosis, and for a long time, I was fobbed off with IBS, but I knew in myself there was more to it. If you want to find out more about PBC and its symptoms, try www.pbcfoundation.co.uk and take it from there. Good luck.Keep well.
