Hi, I was discovered to have elevated liver enzymes in 2004. Over the years I've had many many tests including liver biopsy, upper endoscopy, urine/eye tests for Wilson's disease and more bloodwork than I could write here. I do not drink alcohol or take any medications/supplements that would affect the liver. I am in good shape with normal levels of cholesterol/lipids, etc. I sometimes get chest pain, but have had my heart checked out multiple times over. Constipation is sometimes a problem.
Out of all the tests the doctors could think up over the last 5+ years the only abnormalities are as follows:
AST and ALT has ranged from normal all the way up to 2x or 3x normal ranges over the years
abnormal blood coagulation (attributed to very mild case of vonwillebrand's disease)
Liver biopsy results -- LIVER, NEEDLE BIOPSY - MILD NONSPECIFIC CHRONIC PORTAL INFLAMMATION AND MILD FATTY CHANGE.
Recently my enzyme levels have been creeping back up to 2x normal range and I've been getting very dull liver pain/cramping.
I can't get a diagnosis! Any ideas out there?
