I got lip swelling size of bigger cherry.
First it looked like a mosquito bite, and it happened while I was naping, and it didnt heart and didnt ithced. As I was tired, I went to sleep and did not pay attention. I'd wake up now after 3 hours, and my lip is big as a cherry :) yes I know it sounds funny, but I'm realy concernd becouse I never had problem like this in my life.

So I would be gratefull for any oppinion or diagnosse...

Here are some pictures of the swelling

The red spot represents the spot where the litlle insect bite was first noticed, but now it looks like it has gone inside...

  • Allergies and infections can cause this. I would see a doctor if it doesn't go away in a day or so. If you have any other swelling or you feel like you can't breathe, go to an emergency room fast.

  • This has happened to me before I woke up and half my bottom lip was swelling. I could feel it getting bigger it did not hurt though. I went to the emergency room they gave me a steroid shot and a shot for allergies. I asked did I get bit or something they said no that it was probably a food allergy. I told them I only ate what I normally eat nothing different. They said you can become allergic to something over night then get over it again (weird uh!).I was also told always go in if it happens again because your tongue or throat can swell next. This happened to me again about a year later I took over the counter allergy medication first and it went away.

  • If you have angioedema (throat swelling) that's pretty serious! You can suffocate. I would go to an allergist to make sure that's what the problem is. You should carry an Epi-Pen with you always!!! Your doctor can prescribe one for you. I would also always take an allergy medicine, a non-drowsy one in the daytime and benadryl at night. But absolutely see a doctor. I can't tell you how important that is!!!!
