About twice a year - my top lip swells (not outwards) but downwards. My partner calls it my 'beak'. It feels tingly the day before nad over the next 2 days in swells down and will stay for about 2 whole days and then gradullay deflate back to normal. It doesn't hurt, blister or weep like a normal cold sore. And it always occurs on the top lip in the centre. I have noticed they happen within 2-3 months of each other. And then I'll be OK until the next year. It's quite ugly to look at and I'm very self conscious of it. Has anyone ideas on what tis is...?

  • Have you been stung on the lip before? I was when I was seven or so. Sometimes a reaction to food or something else will bring it back. I got stung on the neck a few years back and my lip swelled, just like I'd been stung on the neck. Weird!

Weird!Years ago I was stung by a bee on my back and my top lip was swelling so bad and so fast that I went to the emergency room. They gave me two shots and kept me there for an hour.I am reading this now because my bottom lip is swollen. don't know why. Thinking about going to the doctor although he might not be able to help.
