I am 38 years old male and over the past mo. my bottom lip has been numb. Last night I got out of bed and was going to the bathroom when suddenly at the back of my head towards the base started to hurt. The next thing I new I fell backwards without being able to catch myself and hit my back and head on my tile floor. No neurological changes occur, I did not go unconscious nor did my thoughts change. I was just in pain from hitting my back and my head. Can these two things be related? I have been healthy up to this point.

  • I have a cell phone but rarely use it or carry it. I also live out in the country and no towers close by...wish there were so we'd have some service. Thanks for the thought though.

  • I would get checked out. It may be a migraine, but it's possible it may be something more serious, like a stroke.

  • It also sounds like a stroke to me. Take this seriously and get a CAT Scan or possibly an MRI.

  • Research Trigeminal Neuralgia and I think you will find your answer. Mine started with occasional numbess every so often for a year and then all of a sudden it turned into such pain I wanted to scream. Some people mistake it for tooth pain and have teeth removed even. There is surgery for it but it is intense brain surgery, they do have some medications, see a neurologist.
