Light Ring on Skin - Bite?

I have a light brown ring on my right arm, on the inside. I don't remember being bitten there, but a few insects have been in the house, so I suppose it could've happened in my sleep. I don't believe that it's a tick bite, since it doesn't really have a bullseye marking or match any pictures I've seen. It doesn't hurt or really feel anything, but it's been around for a couple of days now, and the skin in the middle of it feels dry, and it peels a bit near the ring area. When I was in the shower earlier, though, it seemed to go from a ring to a patch, though I can't be certain.

Here are a couple of pictures of it. Apologies for the bad quality.

Is it possible it's just a bruise or something, or does anybody else have any idea what it could be?

My son has the same thing, and now its' spreading, to a few different parts of his body, he has it on his arm, like you, and stomach and another on his leg. The doctor said it was a rash and gave him cream, but its not a rash texture its smooth. any answers would be helpful.

  • Um, actually I'd like to know if you found out what it is too. I have the same marking on my left forearm, only there is another one next to it like a half circle. Actually, it's kind of freaking me out, if anyone could shine some light on the situation, I'd appreciate it.

  • It sounds like ringworm. You will need to go to the doctors and get some medication for it. It is contagious so you can give it to someone else.

  • It may be a case of ringworm. If you go to a dermatologist, they have creams and salves to help it clear faster.

  • It may be a case of ringworm. If you go to a dermatologist, they have creams and salves to help it clear faster. It looks like ringworm which is a fungal infection. It is contagious in that it can be passed between humans as well as between humans and cats and dogs. It is the same type of fungal infection as athlete's foot and can be treated with the same type of medication you find for athlete's foot fungus...it should even say so on the medication you buy for athlete's foot. Hope this helps.

  • After looking at the pictures, it looks like ringworm. Ringworm is a fungus that is contagious and can be transmitted between humans, or between humans and cats or dogs. It is of the same fungal family as jock itch and athlete's foot. A cream or spray for athlete's foot should be able to treat the ringworm. The product should state that on the tube or can. I hope this helps.
