I have sever pain in front of upper left leg. Almost impossible to walk. Pain runs from buttock to inner thigh around to front part of leg. Makes my feet tingle. I am a diabetic. My A1c was 10.2 in January 2008 for last 2 months I have got blood sugar down to around 140. The pain is worse when I try to walk. I have had this pain for a month and it is getting worse it wakes me up many times at night. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I don't have any swelling or redness or warmth. I went to the doctor and he has no idea what it is. Since I do not have any insurance I can't afford an MRI. He gave me some pain medication. Since I am a diabetic I fear it might be Diabetic Neuropathy but the doctor I went to was my diabetic doctor and he did not mention that. My right leg in front from hip to knee has been numb for 4 years. The pain I am having now is in my left leg. Felson thank you for your suggestion.

  • Many clots are never discovered because of the absence of swelling. They can be discovered with ultrasound and in a slim patient they can check all the way up to the common iliac vein. My knowlage of diabetes is very scarse, so I am afraid I can not give you any more advice. Good luck!

  • I get the same pain, mine is caused by sciatica. I am not a diabetic but have a friend who is and for quite some time now she also has been experiencing the same type of leg pain, and unable to walk, Drs told her she has sciatica. Get you Dr to check it out. Good luck, hope you get relief soon.:)

  • My doctor said it was not sciatica. Sciatica hurts in the back of the leg mine hurts in the front. He also said it was not a groin tear.
