leg numbness

I have tried to find out what is going on with my right leg. When I stand for 15 minutes or more, the upper front part of my thigh feels numb. When that happens, I can still feel cold, heat and pinching. It is a strange sensation. When I sit, there is a cool rush that goes over the leg and it quits. There is no pain what so ever. At first, I thought it may be where my work keys hit my thigh, but I have started carrying them in another pocket and still get the sensation. There is no weakness, tingling, etc. it is the weirdest thing. Any one know what I am dealing with? Thanks

  • My leg was numb a few years ago, and I had no back pain whatsoever. After physical therapy did not help, I had an MRI. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc at L5-S1. I had back surgery (24 hour in hospital stay). I don't remember exactly how long it took for the numbness to totally go away, but I have not had any problems since. I hope this helps.
