SO my son is only 12 weeks old. When he was nine weeks old, after his 2 month shots he got a severe fever (102.9 degrees f), he wasnt wanting a bottle, VERY irritable, and his top fontenelle was really swollen. They did labs, spinal tap and before they admitted him they did a ct scan to see why the fontenelle was swollen. Ct scan showed blood around the brain with a clot on the left side. they sent him to UC Davis in sacramento. the doctors monitored him.
original ideas were shaken baby syndrome (but no hemohrrage in retina or even cloudy spinal fluid), clotting disorder (tests showed negative), and metabolic or genetic disorders.
MRI made the doctors think that the blood was older than 3 weeks.
Two week Follow up CT scan last week makes them think its fluid build up not blood. they say whatever it is hasnt re-absorbed. they were talking about surgery.
On monday my sons right eye in the corner by nose in the white part develops blood.
metabolic test comes back with acylcarnitine abnormal.
i feel like im going nuts. i dont know what to do, ask or where to look for info on the web. i need help. my son brian needs help. does anyone have any ideas?
