I am a 46 yr old female. Last week while at work suddenly with no warning while I was shouting I had a severe pain in my neck/throat that went from a generalized area which was just to the left of my throat where a mans adam apple would be, and shot up through my ear to the side of my head. The pain was excrutiating. My doctor diagnosed it was a possible salivary stone. After 2 days of steroids and NASID drugs the pain is no better. I get the pain when I talk in certain tones or at certain loud volumes. I can feel the pain more if I press on the right side of my neck. The pain is on the left only It feels like it is behind or to the side of my larnyx about where a mans adam apple is. My doctor has scheduled a cat scan. Any suggestions as to what the heck this is? It is not on the inside of my throat, no pain swallowing or soreness or tenderness inside of the throat.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
