Large mass on inner thigh

Hello, My boyfriend has a large mass on the inside of his right thigh. It has gotten much larger over the last two years that I have known him. It is now about the size of a coconut. It is not red nor sore. He says it feels like a piece of chewing gum. He has also put on alot of weight. He has no insurace and really needs to go to a Dr. But he is very thick headed. I thought if I can get something from a Doc... he would listen.... Please someone help he is to young to have any major thing wrong (serious) besides I NEED HIM.

  • Your friend probably has a fatty mass called a lipoma. It can be easily removed and is not cancer. It might possibly be a cyst, but the way you describe the feeling - lipoma- If you live in an area with a decent teaching hospital, have your friend call and see whether there are any programs for uninsured. Good luck.
