crashed on snowmobile 1 year ago went to doc hip and leg banged up bad could not walk got hip and leg x-rays scrip for vicodin and naproxen. I was back walking without crutches in a week but seem to have lost my sex drive blamed it on vicodin but never came back and have had steady back aches since. Toughed it out and then started having problem with urinating hesitancy and weak stream and back pain was getting worse traveling into buttock and legs. My normal sexual functions included waking up during the night with erections and wanting sex daily to no night time erections or very seldom and sex maybe once a week! Finally went back to doc he took x-rays and blood and urine test digital prostate exam(said it was in great shape) gave me script for darvect and naproxen and ordered an mri. testosterone level was 259 not sure what the urine test was for but says it came back clean ordered another blood test for free testosterone it came back at 11. a week later got the mri it came back as a slight bulge to the left at l5 s1 but results say it has no significant impact?(not sure on what) now I am to go in for another urine test and blood test for psa? Its been nearly a month and no answers yet maybe the crash and problems are just a coincidence? any help would be appreciated...

  • I think the accident and lack of sex drive is connected, somehow. My husband was in a car accident, then had back surgery. Before he had a high sex drive much like you explained yours was before. He has zilch now :( Not sure if its a lack of drive or he is just too scared it will hurt his back or hip. Maybe a combination of both.

  • Your very welcome. :) You also helped me see its not just what i was thinking, that it happened to someone else to. Unfortunately for us, its been over a year and nothings come back. I just sit and wait for a miracle lol. My hubby was on hydrocodone, but seldom has taken it for sometime, just now and then, so I don't think its the meds. I would think more like some nerve got damaged, the one that tells your brain, you want sex!!

  • not sure where his back injury is but the reading I have been doing shows that the nerves that control the male sex organs and such exit out of the spine in either l4 or l5 area! that's why the more I read the less I undestand of my lack of a diagnosis It seems like the answer is in black and white but the mri is not showing it????

  • seek out a good chiropractor. the doc told my hubby that he sprained his back and sent him on his way. The chiropractor he went to did more xrays, and sent him for a MRI that showed he broke his back in 2 places plus two discs were shattered.
