I have been experiencing vaginal itching and burning over the last 3 weeks. the symptoms felt like a candida infection so I have taken a caniston and nistat course of treatment. However these treatments have not totally cured the symptoms as I am still experiencing some discomfort, although not as severe. I am now experiencing pelvic pain, similar to period pain, even though I finished my period a week ago. this pelvic feel is also lower down in the bladder region. In addition, I have been feeling urgency and pressure to urinate without burning but pain decreased in bladder when I empty my bladder. I noticed that my urine was not clear and when I took a specimen my self, I noticed white mucus/skin looking particles in my urine. Would this indicate a urinary tract infection and/or could it be something else.

Thank-you for your time and appreciate your imput asap

  • Vaginal yeast infections are pesky...even when the vaginal aspect has been controlled, sometimes it has traveled into the urethra and causes urinal discomfort...those white things in the urine might be clumps of yeast or just sediment. You need to see your OB/GYN and get a urinalysis. Dont wait around, these things just get worse and are simply cured with the proper meds. Also, invest in a very good probiotic and take it a minimum of one month along with everything else!

  • Please take the probiotic orally, but also insert a capsule into your vagina at night. This works wonders for yeast infections and bacterial infections. You must do this at least two weeks to help get your vaginal flora back in balance. If you can add a tablespoon of unsweetened yogurt and insert this with the probiotic it will be even better. Cut out high fructose corn syrup from your diet completely, and cut back all other sugars., This should really help. You need a urinalysis to check for a UTI - this sounds like you have one. Please do this Asap. Cranberry capsules help some people with this, as well as high vit. C (EmergenC is great for this). If you end up with antibiotics, you absolutely MUST take the highest probiotic dose you can.Best wishes.DOM
