Over the past month I have discovered a small lump on my knee. I would even describe the lump as more of a hard dime-sized knot. This knot is on my left knee and if the top of my knee cap is 12 o'clock, the knot is about at the 7 o'clock position on my knee cap. However, It seems to be completely separated from my knee; meaning I can move the lump with my skin and actually pinch my fingers between the lump and my knee. It isn't painful when inactive; however, when I use my knee to exercise it gets a little sore. Also, when I move the knot around and play around with it, it gives the area kind of a numb like feeling for a few seconds.
I think its from chronic overuse because I have been training very hard lately, but I am unsure of the exact condition and its beginning to worry me a little. I would like to avoid going to the doctor if I can, so if anybody can help me, your help would very much be appreciated. If I failed to describe the lump much, please just ask for me to further explain.
