Our daughter has suffered with ketones in her urine for the past two years. They are almost always present in a +++ status. Generally either glucose or protein are also present with the ketones. So far she has lost a fair bit of wait and is pale. A blood test today showed low iron levels. We are continually told not to be concerned about the ketones? however we are getting quite concerned over it as we have no idea what the cause of them are or the cause of the protein / glucose. Any ideas would be lovely as at this stage we are unsure what to do next. She is complaining of headaches and also stomach aches almost everyday. She has tested negative to cealiac disease and we have done a complete dairy free diet with no change. Please help by offering your ideas.

  • hi, my name is ashley. i have a 3 year old daughter who has had a history of ketones in her urine, but now showing low levels of iron. i was wondering if you have found anything out yet? she has been born w/a murmur which required heart surgery at 8 months old, then on-going recurrent fevers and upper respiratory infections since about 6 months old and now seems to happen too often & too close together & now she has been seeming to look more and more pale lately and people have noticed. she has struggled w/low weight since birth. she will be seeing 3 specialist next week... Pulmonologist, Immunologist & Cardiologist, but was just curious where you have gone with your situation?
