Just a diagnosis ?

Are posters here only looking for the "correct" diagnosis ?

And not really looking for effective care ?

Regular medicine is very good for accidents and emergency care, but is very ineffective for most chronic diseases. And in most of those cases the symptoms are treated with drugs, and the true causes are not really searched for.

Do your regular docs, in their intake forms and history, ask about diet or exposure to the many toxins now in our environment ?

Awaiting replies, insights, comments etc.
Thanks in advance,
Ralph

  • Ralph, once one is able to determine a correct diagnosis, then one is able to research and recieve information on how to treat symptoms or perhaps the cause of the symptoms. Also, upon recieving a medical, physiological diagnosis, one may save themselves grief, aggravation and insult by being sent to a doctor of Psychology. Many ill people are said to have mental problems or are told "It is all in your head"How many threads in this forum contain that sentence? The answer is too many.Truth of the matter is, humans need answers. Hence, Science, Medicine, Research ect.Once a person recieves a medical diagnosis, it does not constitute the end of their journey but rather the beginning.Imagine the frustration of so many in this forum who have been ill for years only to be told by doctors"I don't know"--"You are a medical mystery"--"All test results are normal, it must be psychological"It gets old, really fast. It is frustrating and one starts to believe it is just them and begins to take it personally.I guess what I'm trying to say is, if a person does not know if they have cancer or an autoimmune disease then neither they nor doctors will know how to proceed. One may choose to treat symptoms alone, however, with a correct diagnosis, one may be able to eliminate underlying causes of many of those symptoms.Knowledge is power, if used correctly

It has been proven (according to Ray Francis) that if you go out to the street and start asking random people on the sidewalk about food and nutrition, they happen to be more informed about nutrition than doctors! As I was discussing with my acupuncturist last time I was due for NAET, people in the West love to harbor negative thoughts, feelings, emotions, resentments, eat products that translate to straight poison (such as aspartame), live lifestyles that are not fit for our 50,000 year old genes, eat plastic derivatives (velveeta) , etc and then, then they just want to throw themselves on the doctor and said " I don't know what's wrong, just fix me! Fix me!" "So I can go out and continue my crazy undernourished existence! *For everyone who is sick- I recommend reading "Never Be Sick Again"- In a nutshell, this books helps you to stop making yourself sick- by telling you many things that people should avoid. It gives lots and lots of research and references. The author is a Doctor of Chemistry and Registered Nutritionist- he is also an MIT graduate. This book is 20 years ahead of mainstream medicine. One of the pillars of Ray Francis theory is his notion that "There is only one dis-ease: Cellular dysfunction" and "only Two causes: toxicity and deficiency."My two cents.Have a good day Ralph!

  • Thanks, Eatafruit - one thing, though. We are in agreement over 500%. I am currently refining a presentation based on................. "Never Be Sick Again" and feel Francis is way ahead of the curve and is exactly right on. I currently am doing some work in a Far Infrared Sauna dealers location. We are combining that detox - which to me is incredibly impressive - and then finding specific nutritional needs with a BioMeirdian Stress Assessment machine. The sauna is tremendous. In addition to being a DC for 18 years, I have also been a massage therapist for 22 years. The sauna on most days is better than any massage I have had anywhere by anyone, and I have had o good number. The MSA machine can pick up problems in early stages really well. It measures stress in pathways connected to organs and systems and helps us select what to use for nutritional support. I have used Standard Process and Systemic Formulas products for years, and am currently exploring Reliv, which we are getting good to really excellent results from. It is made to be easily absorbed and it really helps many with CFS, FM, and many conditions. Thanks so much for you reply, outlook and insights.Ralph

  • i have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue and was being treated at a fibro and fatigue center based upon the whole detox and use of componding pharmacies. I was a patient for 2 years and although in some areas i am better in some areas i have developed other medical problems that landed me in the er and now back in the care of "traditional medicine". I get the idea based upon cleansing the body but also now realize how dangerous detoxes etc. can be and i was under a doctors supervision.

  • To unreg just above. Sorry for your experience. I realize that many are focused on detox, but it isn't the most simple thing to do in some cases. I really feel that "pushing" already stressed organs is not a good idea. It is sort of like beating a tired horse to run faster. Don't know much about compounding detoxes. I do know a bit about compounding for hormone problems and am not really impressed with that. With my patients we focus on helping organs and glands heal as best they can, so you don't have to ingest lots of drugs and / or supplements on an ongoing basis. I know that may sound radical, but the body is designed to heal. And to unreg further above in this thread (that is such a common name here it actually makes it difficult to reply and continue a conversation because one may be replying to a different unreg than wanted)getting the dx "right" may give some comfort, yes. But is it more important than finding truly effective treatment ? Traditional medical dxs are not really the cause, they are a description of what may be going on. Most docs are in the same "box", meaning that they look at things the same ways. This really fails patients in getting effective treatment. When I have difficult cases with patients I like getting opinions of others that look and treat differently than me. I will ask homeopaths, acupuncturists, chiros who adjust with different techniques to help me so that ultimately I can help that patient. And head them to healing, if possible, as stated above. Any insights why there are so few replies to this thread ?Would love to have some of you read the book Eatafruit mentioned above so we could then discuss that take on disease. IMO it is not a theory, it is a fact !

  • Hi Ralph,I am V52 and can't register on this computer I am on now. I have read the above...just don't have time to reply right now.I'm going through a process (best I can say it) and understand what you mean. I used to do neuropsychological testing, and I can't tell you how many times (10 years ago; I am no longer working), that people looked me in the eyes in regards to their AD diagnosis asking what they could do to change it. I will never forget those sad eyes of my patients. Only a few came to the Dr. with alternative therapies....they weren't given much consideration by the Dr......mostly because he said he didn't know. I do know that I heard the Dr. I worked for talk about one drug that was pulled from the market pretty much cured AD. It is available in other countried, but illegal here. Some of his patients travelled abroad to get the drug. However, I have no proof of it working. I will get the book and I would love to be involved in a discussion of it...hopefully I can contribute something. It has been my quest in life to always go after the WHY. Many times, I don't think people know what questions to ask a Dr. I think it often takes the correct question, before the answer can be found. Questioning can change the line of thinking. More thoughts on this, too.btw, I have found all of your posts to be helpful, thank you. Especially on the Lyme.Val
