I am 41 years old and I have had joint pain since I was 5. I have been to about 20 doctors in my life over this pain. My joints swell when the barometric presssure rises or falls, when the fire place is lit or extreme changes in tempenture such as freezers or comming in from the heat into a cold building.. Whenever the room pressure drops or raises I get pain so bad it use to make me cry when I was young, but now I have to "pop" my joints and wait until the sharp pains leave to get relief. I have marbling of ganglion cysts in my hands. My doctor says the cysts should not effect me. While I am experience these debilitated joint pain spasms, I get pain in my eyes. It like a sharp needle in the center of my eyes, the sharp pain travels into my temple of my head. It feels like the fluid around my eyes and joints are expanding and contracting. I hypothesize that my cysts is the fluid being pushed out. Working my hands for long periods will cause my wrists to swell. I have had mis-diagnoses of arthritis, x-rays and MRI's have all been negative. I have been checked for rhuethoid properties and my blood work was negative. My current doctor of 7 yrs is at a stump. I have had the best Ortho Dr. in eastern portland look at my joints and found nothing. I do have visable cysts which they say did not show on the MRI-

Any advise or suggestions are welcomed-

  • Joint pain since age 5?..How awful!! I had it for a few years and was overwhelmed....I empathize with you.Drema....the best advice I have is to find NAET/Bioset therapy in your area. I was sick for a long time and it is the only thing that helped. There are alot of people in this forum endorsing it.....cuz it works!! I wish you the best and my joint pain disappeared after attending this therapy...I can now walk, sit, stand without discomfort...It works, no matter what your "diagnosis" is...that is the good news... Be well....mommy cat

  • Go over the river and into Vancouver to find Dennis O'Brien, DC. He is an alt doc that has lots of experiences with many conditions. I make this suggestion as the regular docs have found nothing and it doesn't seem they will. I have known Dr. O'Brien for 20 years as we went to WSCC together. On the RA test - they are not totally accurate, as only 2 out of 3 show positive in the blood. This means you can actually have it and the blood does not show it. IME RA may be late Stage Lyme.

  • Has Ehlers Danlos ever been ruled out? A geneticist tests for it.
