  • it sounds like he has some of the symptoms from the syndrome i have been diagnosed with. it's called ehlers-danlos syndrome. it's a connective tissue disorder that mainly effects your joints depending on the specific case and type. the type i have is the hypermobile type and i experience severe joint pain, swelling and dislocation on a daily basis that worsens when i walk or do any kind of overly physical activity.it started in my knees (which are by far the worst and most painful) and ankles but affects all of my joints.i might be wrong about this because it's normally first seen at early ages..it's typically passed down from generation to generation, so if one of his parents had the same problems that might be a hint? but it could also be gained through a mutated geneif you want to look into it more a helpful site is ednf.org

  • Sounds to me like pseudogout where crystals of calcium, and not uric acid, are present in and around joints. All the tests he had done would not have been conclusive for that particular condition I mention above.
