  • Ice it down and don't bend it a lot. I'd tape it to another finger to stabilize it.

  • how long does a jammed finger take to get back to normal, providing that I am doing everything I can to make the swelling go down. Right now my finger is so swollen I can barely feel the tip of my finger

  • You need to get an X ray of the finger, just in case it is an avulsion fracture. Often when a finger gets jammed in, the tendon tears a tiny chip of bone off of one end. If it is, thisproblem has to be splinted in a very specific manner. Good luck.
