hi there everyone, i'm new to this so you'll have to bear with me

I have an intense itchy scalp, its driving me crazy at the moment, then it will calm down then flare up again, its been checked and i have like red lumps like bites, this has been going on for nearly 2yrs now. The dr gave me kentozole (sp) shampoo which use to help but i seem to be coming immune to it.

A bit of background about myself, i was diagnosed as asthmatic last oct. I originally asked the nurse if i could have an allergy test she told me she couldn't see it because they cost too much, anyway i asked the dr the next time i was in but he said they won't give one coz it doesn't normally show anything up! I felt down, tired, bloated, constipated so i did my own food elimation starting with diary but that didn't do anything, so i moved on to breaded products and hey presto it worked and took all my symptoms away, after doing some research i found out about gluten/wheat intolerance and feel alot better since eliminating them, but i've still got the itchy scalp. Its so intense I could scratch and scratch but i try not too. About 7yrs ago i had an outbreak of urticaria (sp).

I've searched everywhere, been to the dr's tried all sorts of potions but nothing!!

  • Red bumps that look like bites somewhat describes folliculitis. Folliculitis can be intensely itchy for some people. If you happen to have this, you will not get better with topical treatments. This diagnosis needs oral antibiotics to get better, often for a number of months. Go see a dermatologist when you get more red bumps......
