Itching Skin

I am a 24 yr old Male.

I recently moved into a new flat, after a month of being there I started getting very itchy, it started off around the groin and genitals area. A week after and it spread to around the back of legs and arms. A week after that and it was spread over my body from the neck down.

I went to the doctor and he thinks it is contact dermatitis, however for the last month I went to non-bio washing powder ( which I have used before ) roll on deodorant and non perfumed shower gel. He also presribed me a petroleum based moisturisor.

However, my itching is getting worse, i am constantly breaking skin when I do itch, the skin also turns quite rough and dry and in other areas are red dots just on the surface of the skin. I am losing sleep because of it which is starting to effect my work.

Any advice you can give me to ask the doctor to test me for or advice on helping control this would be great.

I am not sure if this is connected but roughly a week before it started I found a lump under my nipple which keeps getting bigger and it painful when pressed. The doctor thinks it is just a swollen gland.

All bedding and stuff in the flat is my own and newly purchased.
