I'm concerned about a friend of mine.
She's had itching and pain on the roof of her mouth (deep tissue) for several months now. Two months previous to the start of the pain, she had a root canal. The sensation seemed to start at the area of the root canal, and it has spread to the entire roof of her mouth.
She's seen an ENT, but he said he had no idea what it could be and gave her a numbing mouth wash. For several months this has gotten worse for her, and benadryl does not help it.
Any advice as to where to look for the cause of these symptoms would be greatly appreciated. Her doc said he does not think it could be related to the root canal because it took two months to manifest. Any chance he could be wrong on that? What else could it be?
