It started with mild pain around neck and shoulders Jan 2009. My arms and shoulder joints can become very painful when there is an attack. This can spread to my hip joints and legs as well. My muscles were sore as some one has beaten me up.( or more like the pain you feel when you are having a very high temperature) It is painful to touch as well.
On a normal day it is difficult to get out of the bed. My feet hurt and it is difficult to move. Anyway if I managed to get out and move about the pain will reduce.
Some days every little thing I do is painful such as lifting a cup of tea. I found the pain get worse when I am immobile such as driving or watching TV.
Doctors thought it is due to muscle damage caused by a cholesterol lowering medication I took. "Crestor". I took it only for about one month. This whole pain thing started when I was taking the medication. I stopped the medication after taking it for one month. Four months later I still get this pain attacks. Some days when I wake up I feel like all my joints are falling apart.
Doctors did a blood test and found nothing wrong with my blood reports other than a very low level of Vitamin D. He thinks it is the cause. So I am taking Caltrate D twice a day now. He said it can take about three months to take effect.
