I am horrified at the amount of suffering due to akathisia. Many of you clearly have symptoms of akathisia which is extremely uncomfortable. Akathisia is a very common side-effect of all antipsychotic meds and also many other psych and non-psych meds. Unfortunately, it is often unrecognized by the prescriber or misdiagnosed. The good news is that there is a very safe and very cheap treatment which works within a day or two. The most effective treatment is a low dose of propranolol, which is a very old medication for hypertension. Therefore, it must be prescribed by a doctor. Anyone suffering from akathisia, please google "akathisia propranolol." You will be amazed at how effective it is.
