Had a painful headache and painless twitching 4 years ago and went to a neurologist .MRI,EMG and blood work done everything came back normal. Was diagnosed as migraine. The headaches went away but the feeling of constant imbalance still persisted and other symptoms such as fatigue.Last 3 months other symptoms developed which got progressively worse.

Current symptoms:

Feeling unbalanced-Need to walk slowly.Sudden movements makes it worse.Sitting down and standing makes me dizzy at times and vice versa.Taking the stairs is also problematic at times.Even when i stepped out of the elevator I get dizzy.By far the worst symptom.

Cognitive problems-Mentally tired.Unable to concentrate and think.Poor memory.Feels as though my brain is so slow and is not functioning properly.Feel like an idiot at times.Following lectures and comprehending what im reading became near impossible and had to quit school as a result.

Painless twitching all over.Mainly in legs and hands.Feels like something is crawling under my skin.Weird vibration and sensation. This twitching came back 3 months ago after a long "absence".

Extreme fatigue

Lately I also have backache-not really pain just ache

General weakness in legs and hands. When I walk my knee would buckle at times.

Symptoms get worse as the day progresses. When i wake up its not as bad.

Problem is there is no specific area where there is "pain" so im afraid I wont be take seriously.

Blood pressure was high one time I saw a GP.She referred me to an endrocrinologist. Was told its not normal for someone my age to have hypertension.

I have a VNG test with and ENT specialist,an Endocrinologist and another Neurologist(referred by the ENT).

Do the symptoms above sound like MS?Do you need to have lesions to have MS?What should i suggest the doctors do because im afraid they wont take me seriously and say "its all in your head" and "you dont tick the right boxes" and all that bs.Or could it be Chronic fatigue syndrome ,fibromyalgia or some sort of dysautonomia or deficiency of some sort eg vitamin b12.I have a feeling that that awful headache causes some sort of damage to my brain or nerves.

Any suggestions?

I doubt, however, that a good doctor would treat those symptoms that don't fit MS as irrelevant. They will possibly have you get another MRI, a lumbar puncture to collect csf, and a nerve conduction test.

  • How would you describe the headache? What is your diet like?Do you wake up refreshed in the morning after you have slept?Do you have any pallor(paleness of skin) compared to family or friends of same nationality? If you have dizziness or whooziness primarily when standing up then you might want to suggest to your doctor for a tilttest to test for Orthostatic Hypotension.Purchase a stethoscope and bloodpressure machine(from chemist i assume) and check your heartrate when sitting down and then stand up and check it.Same with the blood pressure machine-test your blood pressure during different intervals in the day and also when standing.

  • I would speak with the doctor to rule out the following:1)Anemia - a frequent culprit behind deep fatigue and dizziness2) Vitamin B 12 deficiency - may cause tingling / twitches, also can lead to anemia which would the cause fatigue3) Chronic sinus infection - may cause headaches and vertigo

  • Have you researched Lyme disease?i did but where Im from,South east asia I doubt its the case.Even if it is Im pretty sure there are no literate lyme doctors here. However previously there was a bed bug problem at my house. From what Ive gathered its only ticks that carry lyme disease.Im really lost here.

  • I dont have headaches anymore just the imbalance feeling. When im feeling unbalanced I dont feel as though my head is hurting or spinning. Its quite difficult to explain.I think I feel some kind of pressure at the back of my neck and ears somehow.Sometimes I do feel that my heart rate increases when Im sitting and then standing up.Ive looked into the tilt table test and what kind of specialist treat this kind of condition?I guess Ill see the other doctors first
