I had loose stools for a week, happening once or twice a day. then for a week i saw red in the stool, still loose and happening after each meal. no cramps or abdominal pain. But a lot of urgency.

the sigmoidoscopy showed ulcers in the sigmoid colon part, 20 cm from rectum.

the biopsy said presence of cryptitis and crypt abscess and mucosaldepletion. Diagnosis inflammation and possiblity of Ulcerative Colitis could not be ruled out.

immediately on taking medicine for bacteria related and antiboitic use (had them for 20b days in FEb) related colitis the diarrhea ended but blood continues.

now 10 days later, I am taking probiotics. some days i see no blood. others i see tissue blood and low stool blood.

The blood tests of anemia, complete blood count, Liver function test and c reactive protein are normal. how likely is this UC??

  • From what you've mentioned, it seems very likely that you have UC (or at least some type of inflammatory bowel disease).
