hello, i'm a 26 year old male. In 2005 i was struck down by a mistereous illness. Fatigue that lasted over a year, twitches and muscle spasms, enlarged lymph nodes, euphoria, muscle and joint pain, extreme lower and upper back pain, ibs, sensitivity to sound and light, stiff joints, to name a few. I was diagnosed with cfs/me. This year, although i am back at work and many symptoms i have learn't to live with, there are some that are still a problem, my back pain, rock hard lymph nodes, twitching and spasms and stiff joints. New symptoms are appearing, extreme mood changing (bipolar) erectile disfunction, inflamed optical nerve, night blindness, everything sounds the same volume, hard to pick out voices or specific sounds. Weight loss, and dissociation feeling to world. Is this all part of cfs or should i just ignore it all. I come from a family of narcissists and know i have developed health anxiety. I'm sacred to go to my gp anymore because although i've had legitimate symptoms and signs i appear to be paranoid of getting ill. Which is not the case, i just want to get on with life, without being dragged down by ill health. I want it sorted. Please help. Regards. Ps, please excuse my lack of paragraphs, i am using my phone and it doesn't at have that function for some reason.

  • Hi, I think you need to get blood work for any vitamin and/or electrolyte deficiencies. I do not think your DHEA (adrenal glands), chortisol, and B12 started all of this out of the blue, but being stressed for so long I would wager a bet that your blood chemistry will be off now. These hormones and vitamins are serious and have their own symptoms associated with them.As for the culprit, have you looked at Lyme Disease. Sounds close to me and not everyone sees a rash or remembers the tick bite. I have even read that the disease can be passed to babies in utero. In your case though it sounds like you had epstein barr symptoms in 2005 (fatigue for a year) and are even showing newer symptoms now while others come and go. All of this sounds like Lyme because you can show symptoms as quickly as a few days or as long as years.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyme_diseaseHope this helps with a direction. Good Health.

  • thank you for you replies, i forgot to say, i have been losing my memory, short and long. And i swear i'm becoming more retarded each day. As for lupus, sle or lymes i cannot say, i have been told i am b12 deficient and took 1ampule of b12 every month for 2 years, have been put on hydrocortisone and taken domestos strength antibiotics. I have also been treated for depression, mania and pain. Every doctor either puts me on something for kidneys, heart, brain, hormone, steroid ... Getting a bit fed up of being a guinea pig and want it sorted.
