Hello,
I am a 23 year old female.
Since 1 month, I have been having the following symptoms:
Vaginal Burning Sensation
and Irritation in the stomach.
Sometimes I also suffer from frequent urination
I went to the doctor and I was treated for two different things:
Vaginal Yeast Infection
Urinary Tract Infection
Things still did not get better and I underwent a Urine test but the results came out to be normal.
I am still having the symptoms mentioned above.
Please help

  • Did you get checked for all STDs?

  • Get checked for an active herpes infection--sounds like it--and Valtrex pills will fix it pretty fast. Sandy

  • You'll need to ask for a blood test for herpes because if you do have it, it is internal.

  • The blood test is an IGG for Herpes type A and B--tests not only for anitbodies to the virus--which just about everyone has--but lets them know if the infection is active now. BTW doesn't matter if you don't have the typical herpes sores--women often don't and get burning instead. There are other things this could be--but this is a place to start.

  • I strongly recommend you do as the other posters recommended and in the meantime, if it is the urinary problem still not gone away, or yeast infections lingering, eat yogurt with active cultures and drink lots and lots of water (not cola or juice or tea)..keep things moving for a week or more. I am not recommending this INSTEAD of testing, but in addition. Joan

This is poor information; try not to educate people with incorrect information. Do a little research. There are a variety of tests for herpes and I believe this poster is referring to herpes 1 and herpes 2, not A and B. Not "just about everyone has it"......no, there are a large percentage of people with herpes 1 and it usually is on the lips. About 20-25% of the population has herpes 2. Many people who have it don't know that they have it because they may have symptoms like the original poster is having and never get checked for it. There is a need to request the herpes 2 specific test to determine if it is herpes 2. You don't need to have an active outbreak for the test to come back positive. False negatives are also possible. The original poster could also get a pap and check for hpv.
