Help! My Mother recently went through treatment for Throat Cancer(Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy). However she refuses to stop smoking(60 a day)and drinks spirits at the rate of at least a bottle per day. This has been a way of life for her for the last twenty years and my poor Father is at his wits end. Mother refuses to go to the Doctors and we have recently noticed that her left eyelid closes much slowly when blinking and remains closed for a second or two prior to re-opening. Is this the symptom of a degenerative disease, is it likely to be side effect of the treatment undergone for the throat cancer last year or is it likely to be an effect of alcoholism and excessive smoking? Since we cannot get her to the doctors both my Father and I are fearing the worst howeve rwe may be worrying unneccesarily....any suggestions or advice for two very concerned people.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
