Hi all,

I am 26 years old and for the past couple of months I have been getting intermittent numbness of parts of the right hand side of my body. It'll happen perhaps once a week.

It's usually in my right foot or my right hand and when it occurs it will last for anything between 5 minutes to three-quarters of an hour and will affect the whole hand/foot. Usually it happens when I am driving my car and it will occassionally affect my left hand also. Last night when I was laying on the sofa, the right side of my scalp went totally numb. I could dig my fingernails into my scalp and felt nothing. When I sat upright it cleared up pretty quickly (2-3 minutes). The big toe of my right foot has sustantially diminished sensation which is now constant, although no tingling.

I'm not overly concerned about it, but I would like to know if I should be. I feel going to my GP with a problem like this would be a bit of a waste of time and she can neither prove nor disprove my claims as it's such an irregular occurrance and highly unlikely to be happening when I am there with her.

Thanks everyone
