Hello. About a year ago I was sitting at a restraunt when I had a near syncope episode. It only lasted half and hour, so I did'nt think anything of it. Two months after while I was at work it happened again. My boss took me to the ER where my doctor performed a EKG and tested my blood for muscle damage. The test indicated that I did not have a heart condition and they released me and gave me lorazipam. For about two months now I have been having intermitten symptoms of Near syncope, chest pain, Nausea, extreme flatulence, pale stool, and rear neck pain. I thought that I was having a heart attack, so I went to the VA ER and I was given the usual work-up. My EKG and enzime level's were fine. My primary care doctor put me on a one week event monitor and all readings were normal. My primary care doctor thinks that it might be gallbladder problems and A friend had told me that her sister had the same symptoms with her gallbladder. I was wondering of this could be my problem. I'm a 38yr old m with a history of HBP and kidney stones. My grandmother has had her gallbladder removed about 20yrs ago. I was taken off 10 mg lisinopryl and perscribed 25 mg metoprolol because of my fast heart rate. I was weaned of of 10 mg prozac and the lisinopryl two weeks ago. I am also taking prilosec 20 mg.

Thank you for your advice.

  • Any chance you can get referred out to a gastroenterologist? They may be able to figure this out faster than your primary.Sorry you are having such uncomfortable symptoms.Best Wishes.

  • look up pale stool. Pancreatitis, common bile duct obstruction, gall bladder disease etc. The bile from the G.B. is not getting to your poop, so there is an obstruction possibly somewhere.

  • Thank you Rad. I have a HIDA scan and ultrasound scheduled for next week.Hey - did you ever get resolution? I have much of the same symptoms. My heart rate is inappropriately high with any kind of exertion. Normal cardiac workup and endocrinological system. I have a HIDA scan scheduled and would like to know what yours showed. Did you have it taken out? Has your heart rate slowed?

  • I had my gallbladder taken out a few months ago and I can tell you that it was not without seeing many doctors and having many trips to emergency. If your HIDA scan still doesnt show anything try to get in for an ultrasound, they found my gallstones with the second ultrasound... not the first, not with a HIDA scan, not with bloodwork until the day before I got it taken out. You know your body best and you have to trust your instincts. I thought it was a heart attack too and to me if it seems that serious dont give up, something is obviously wrong. I had pain shoot strait up the middle of my back, all accross my shoulder blades, up the middle of my chest, couldnt breathe, fast heart rate, high blood pressure during an attack, cold chills, hot sweats.... I had it go on for two years so if you have the same symptoms then perhaps get them to look even more closely at your gallbladder.
