Hi, i have had a problem with my right thumb since i was 11 (now 18). Basically, for no apparent reason i started having a very sensitive thumb. If any pressure is applied to the thumb, especially on the nail, but also under the nail, like on the thumb print side, it causes an agonizing pain. Very intense pain. Also, when i occassionally bang it on something it hurts an incredible amount. In cold weather it can being to hurt a bit too, like twinge, and its much more sensitive to pressure that even before and will hurt very intensely. These pains can last about a minute and are so painful that it actually feels odd for a bit even after the pain has subsided. I have no idea what it is, there are no visible effects, though my right thumb is a bit skinnier than my left, probably because i have got used to not using it much as the risk of pain. I am left handed luckily so it doesn't pose too much of a problem but i really would like to sort it out. I also bite my nails, and this might have something to do with it but i don't know why as there is no physical difference to it. After biting the nail on the thumb, it is a bit more sensitive to pressure. PLEASE HELP!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
