On the Day after Christmas I went to the emergency due to leg and feet swelling. My weight went from 155 in late Sept. to 175 on that day. My hands were stiff too. Dr. told me I had arthitis.
Blood work showed I had a infection. Had a fever. My blood pressure was high too.
I was diagonsed with a skin infection. Sent home with meds. About three weeks later found out I was @20 weeks pregnant. Lost baby next week. I am now wondering if i had toxemia. OB Dr. will not give me a answer. I was told I never could never conceive so being pregnant never crossed my mind. I do not have a normal period. Now that baby is gone weight is at 150. Hands are fine and blood pressure is now back down too.

  • Did they diagnose you with PCOS? Is that why they said you could never have a baby? they said the same to me.

  • I am sorry for your ordeal and loss. I suggest finding another obgyn because this one seemed to really have missed the boat. It also goes to show that doctors are just NOT accurate in telling you that you are infertile. Conception is so much more than fertility tests! My very good friend was told she would never have children on her own, and had two healthy girls with in vitro. Two years later she was pregnant ON HER OWN. The doctors couldn't believe this and tested her several times...she is having a very healthy pregnancy with another girl due in June. Her husband is an acupuncturist and I think it helped to get her back in balance. Acupuncture is very helpful for women's issues. It can help get you back in balance. Please visit www.acufinder for more information on this form of medicine. I agree it sounds like you had preeclampsia (toxemia) and highly suggest you search for a better and more enlightened doctor. Best wishes to you.DOM
