:confused:a year ago I was in a very bad car accident. I had whiplash, but the true problems started about 5 months ago, when a very weakened muscle tore all the way through. My neck swelled up on one side and I had to ice it and rest. Well, now I have 5 or 6 hard lumps on the side of my neck in various places. They are about the size of large marbles and are from 3 inches below my jaw all the way to my collar bone. they are tender but don't hurt much. Aside from that, I am having difficulty breathing. I hear crackling when I inhale, and wheezing when I exhale. I feel like my neck is constricted. Sometimes I lose my voice and I feel like I can't make any sound. I have a hard time catching my breath. However, I don't have a fever, I don't feel ill. I have had a cough that is unproductive and I have had an ulcer, but I don't know if that relates or not...does anyone have an idea of what this could possibly be????

  • Hi SanflowerI think the simple answer is to get yourself checked out asap. I can only imagine that the marble like lumps are enlarged lymph nodes from a nearly infection (possibly the muscle tear?), but without seeing & examining them, its hard to tell.Your chest symptoms sound possibly like asthma or a chest infection. Again without examination & ausculation its impossible to know.As the symptoms cause difficulty breathing/catching your breath, it really is important that you get this looked at asap. I hope you get some answers very soon.Elisa
