I think the doctor misdiagnosed me...

My symptoms include headache, fever, and joint pain. It' feels like the flu, and two days ago that is what my doctor told me I had. However, I don't believe that it is the flu. I recently returned from a humanitarian mission to Angola and the flu vaccine was one of the many innoculations I had to have prior to going. I suppose it's possible I could have some mutated strain of the flu, but just yesterday these large bumps appeared on the back of my neck - don't know what the heck they are. They seem too large and out of place to be lymph nodes. Does anyone know what the heck is going on with me?

  • I would be asking for a malaria test if the fever persists. or it could be Q fever, Tic fever they will pass after 4 to 5 days. or yes it could be just the flu. innoculations don't cover all forms of the flu. Add- no antimalarials stop you from getting malaria just lessons the symptoms. Regards.

  • Thank you. I ended up going to the emergency room when the symptoms got worse, and a heads-up doctor tested me for parasites. It turns out I was bitten by a tsetse fly. I'm resting in a hospital room right now, but they let me have my laptop. Thank goodness I have nothing contagious.
