I have a 15 month old baby boy who eats more than I do. He eat almost seven full meals a day, plus several bottles. He poops out whatever he ate within 30 minutes. He is CONSTANTLY hungry, not just a "healthy appetite." He has between 8 and ten bowel movements a day. They usually contain undigested food that he just ate prior. His hands shake while he waits for his food. He is really small for his age. Below the 8th percentile for weight and height. I feed him REALLY healthy. No processed food or junk or sugary food. I don't know what is going on with him, although his grandfather did have graves disease.

  • First of all - If you have not been to a doctor then you should put your shoes on and see on real quick, because this is NOT normal. With that said, I think the first thing I would look into is his cortisol levels. Elevated levels can make you feel starving, even when you should be full. You should also look into celiac disease ( no two cases are alike, but there is a simple bloodtest used to rule it out.), malabsorbtion and colitis. Hope you find some answers soon! Kiera

  • Thanks, we have another Dr.s apt. I brought this up at his one year well baby check up and they didn't seem concerned expect with the fact that he is small for his age. I am going to insist they refer for a celiacs test because my other son has indicators for celiacs, he is on a gluten free diet and it works well for him. I did a short trial run for the baby, but didn't notice a change. I agree, though, something is not right.
