Hey how are you guys doing. If you read through my old posts you can see all my past medical history and about my ongoing urinary symptoms. Its been 5 FIVE 5 months now and i have had no sucess. So i have couple questions if anyone can give me a answer it would be great.

My symptoms get worse if i drink alchohl. What may be the cause?

After I have sex or masturbate it bothers me more. Why?

Is it possiable tohave a std for 5 months?

My sympotoms are as follows
Always a urge to urinate but i hold it because if i don't my urine stream will be weak.
Also one reason I always feel like i have to go is because it feels like theier is urine in the shaft of my penis that didnt come out. Like a drop or two.
(This scared me a little but after sex it burned when I urinated for about a half hour....only 2 times.)

Please send me your answers. Im game for any suggestions.

  • "My symptoms get worse if i drink alchohl. What may be the cause?"Acetaldehyde is a byproduct of alcohol metabolism, and acetaldehyde is very irritating to the prostate... Try taking a supplement called NAC or N-Acetylcysteine with some Vitamin-C before you drink. NAC with Vitamin-C will help your body eliminate acetaldehyde as it is being produced by alcohol metabolism. With regards to the chronic condition... Many prostate patients report coffee as one thing that is guaranteed to cause a flare-up. I had alcohol related prostatitis when I was young, and had to give up coffee to keep it under control. I didn't know about the alcohol/acetaldehyde problem at the time. My chronic prostatitis would get much worse if I went without sex for a week or more... I learned that eliminating "congestive prostatitis" with regular sex (2 to 3 times per week) would keep things under control. My prostatitis also flares if I must sit for too long... Especially during air travel, or driving long distances. Hope this helps.

  • Thank you so much. How long have you been dealing with this? And have you ever heard of a way to completely rid this problem? The reason im so iffy bout everything is that I have had treatment for prostatitis and then redid a urine culture and my white blood cell count was normal. I just took another 1 on friday and by tuesday I will know where i stand. And where can i purchase these vitamins you were talking about? The sitting information is really useful that may be some valuable information. Im so happy i found someone that can help me through this. Its sometimes hard explaining all this to a doctor. Its as if they think im crazy sometimes.

  • I drank heavily right out of high school and that's when my prostate problems started... Not so much flow and retention problems, but pain and cramping, often after sex or bowel movements. I saw a doctor and he said my prostate "felt boggy" and gave me antibiotics, which did nothing but make me sick. I eventually made the connection between my "party periods" and prostate problems, but I loved my beer, and I had problems off and on for many years. It wasn't until I was researching how to prevent damage from alcohol consumption that I stumbled upon the reason for the connection and a possible remedy. ------------------------------------Rat ventral prostate xanthine oxidase-mediated metabolism of acetaldehyde to acetyl radical. Castro GD, Costantini MH, Castro JAAbstract:Alcohol drinking is known to lead to deleterious effects on prostate epithelial cells from humans and experimental animals. The understanding of the mechanisms underlying these effects is relevant to intraprostatic ethanol treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and to shed some light into the conflictive results linking alcohol consumption to prostate cancer. In previous studies, we provided evidence about the presence in the rat ventral prostate of cytosolic and microsomal metabolic pathways of ethanol to acetaldehyde and 1-hydroxyethyl radical and about the low levels of alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase. Acetaldehyde accumulation in prostate tissue and oxidative stress promotion were also observed. /edit/ Results suggest that metabolism of ethanol to acetaldehyde and to 1-hydroxyethyl and acetyl radicals could be involved in the deleterious effects of alcohol drinking on prostate epithelial cells.PMID: 19734271 ----------------------------------------------Acetaldehyde from alcohol metabolism was the problem, and NAC (taken with vitamin-C) was the solution. NAC (N-Acetylcysteine) is available at most all vitamin shops, some drug stores, and online. It is best to take it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water about half an hour before dinner if you will be drinking in the evening. One 600mg capsule is all you need, but you do need to take 1000mg (one gram) of Vitamin-C with it or it will not work well. Give this a try and see if it helps... Run it past your doctor first to be sure he has no objections. Try avoiding coffee for a while. Tea is OK... It's not the caffeine that's the problem. It's something else in coffee. Regular sex is good... Drain that prostate every few days and get rid of those evil humors. Let us know how you're doing.

And I think i may have gotten prostatits from drinking then. Im a freshmen in college now and this all started happening in my senior year of highschool. I find that beer makes it worse so i stick to vodika. Im guessing its because you consume way less liquid and get just as drunk. What has been on my mind for a while now is if this is something that can be beat? When i talk to the doctor it seems as if there just as confused as me. How long have you been living with this? Does it get better or you just get used to liviong with it? For a while i didnt even leave the house. Im now starting to go out here and there. But it dampers life because I cant play sports how i used to. When i run the urge gets so overwelming.Have you ever heard of oab pills helping? I took vesicare for a bout a month and it did not help. And i will be keeping tabs with you. I get my results for my hundredth thousandth urine culture tomorrow. Thanks,Randy
