Please help, a few weeks ago I was in the ER for intense muscle aches and fever. I was told I had a viral syndrome. My doctor referred me to an ENT, who thinks the virus wrecked my immune system. He also scheduled me for surgery on November 11 for a tonsillectomy and sinus surgery. Right after my ER visit, my skin began itching intensely. At the time I had no rash, but 2 weeks laters, red bumps appeared on my ankles and lower legs and arms and the itching is unbearable. I have since seen 2 dermatologists and an allergist. They seem stumped and have refused to biopsy it. Quite frankly I am nervous about facing surgery, I feel weak and fatigued. Im quite irritable and Im at the end of my rope...please help

Distal petichial hemorrhaging/rash occurs quite frequently in rickettsial infections (tick/ louse born bacteria in the blood) as well as some other bacterial types (but generally those disseminate to the entire body). Blood-borne bacterial infections can totally wreak havok on the body (immune system) since some live inside immune cells themselves, causing viruses to easily invade as well. It may be a long shot, but worth looking in to.
