It all started about 6 months ago when we noticed he had hand tremmors. these tremmors are there all the time but do get worse when he does any physical acivity. the next thing we noticed is that he was tired all the time. then one day he was mowing the lawn and he said he felt like he was very weak and his heart felt like it was going to jump out of his chest and his heart was beating very fast. he stood up from the lawn mower to come inside he said his legs colaped from under him and he hit the ground his face was flushed. after this i took him to the dr. and they started running tests but all came out normal.mri, ekg, eco, 24 hour urin and lab work. Then he started forgeting things easy like where he put the remote or would stop in the middle of doing something forgeting what he was doing. when you asked him if he did something like a chore he would say i think i did maybe i didnt i dont know and he would have to go look to see if he had done it. The colapses happened another 5 times then last saturday he has an episode that scared me to death. he came in my room calling me dad and asking me crazy things. he was confused and saying off the wall things and he would put together things that happened that day but they would be mixed up with off the wall things. he was all over the place trying to fix things that were not there he he was cofused and could not balance himself. i helped to the car and drove him to childrens hospital that was almost 2 hours away. the episode happened the whole way there just saying and doing weird things not knowing who was who and he visable very tired and would talk one moment and then be asleep the next. in the er he was still having the episode he was off balance and had a hard time with the nuro exam.he also could not gopee they admited him that night and ran more tests...another mri, ekg, eeg, cat scan, blood work and another 24 hour urin. all tests came back normal. he did finally urinate the next day but had on problems with his musles getting tight upon urination and would to push to start utinating again. no episode on sunday but he did have another on monday that lasted an hour and a half then another on tuesday that lasted an hour and a half. they then desided to hook him up to the eeg all night along with a camera on him to see the episode. he did have one wednesday night that lasted an hour and they did cathch it on eeg but it showed he was not having a seizure. thurday tehy let him go home with no answers to what was going on. all tests were normal is all they could tell us, they say it is something neurological but dodnt knwo what. they say he has alot going on symtom wise and they can tpin point what it is. thursday untill today (monday) he was very tired, forgetful and would have to think about what he said before he said it he said he would have troble getting his words out. during the episodes he had his blood pressure would go up his breathing would be hard and his heart rate was fast. ha had ataxia during the episodes also. i dont know what is going on with him but i am scaed and so is he. he never cries and he has cried in fear after the episodes. i just need some answers so we can treat this, i mean i cant help but tink what is next? what will happen to my son next? if you or a loved one have had the same isues or you know what this might be please respond. and thank you for taking the time to read this.

  • I am so glad to see my post is up. reading it though i can tell i was just going on and on.....my spelling was so bad. I am sorry for that. I also noticed that i forgot to tell you all that after his episodes he does not remember anything that happened. He can tell you the last thing he remembers before the episode and the first thing he remembers after but nothing between. I know he can not be the only one who this has happened to so please post anything you think might help. Thank you again.

  • Hi II don't where u live but I would check into these places Cleveland Clinic,Mayo clinic Children's Hosp in Pgh. All these symptoms could come from hormone imbalance, Hormones regulate just about everything. Some neuro symptoms may appear if something else isn't doing it's job or over compensating. When u talk to various Medical personnel be politely aggressive. Please keep me informed.I hope all goes well. PS. Sometimes Drs don't know exactly what test to run for a specfic illnesses unless they are further educated. Keep that in mind.

  • I'm sorry to hear you and your son are going through this.First, I would change doctors. It is worth making an appointment with a specialist at a major hospital to get to the root of the problem before something awful happens. I would start with a cardiologist. If that is all normal the cardiologist will know what other illnesses can cause things that look like cardiac problems but are not. It could be his adrenal glands, could be anything. When they discharged your son and said "all tests are normal" they only mean the tests they did were normal. There are thousands of tests. They are looking in the wrong place. Either the accept the responsibility to dig deeper or they should (must!) be ethical enough to refer you to a specialist to look deeper. They fact that they were satisfied with just saying "we can't find anything" is irresponsible and unethical. Change doctors, but don't' make an appointment with another family doctor or internist. Make an appointment with a specialist. An endocrine specialist, a heart specialist, or appointment at a major hospital to see an internist. Do you live in a small town? A rural area?Hope things improve for you.

  • There is a vitamin b12 deficiency thread on this website itself, where you can read and make yourself familiar as to why I mentioned a b12 deficiency. Here is the link: http://forums.bettermedicine.com/showthread.php/9948-vitamin-b12-deficiency-is-commonly-misdiagnosed

  • Does he have any silver dental fillings? They can be connected to so many unsolved health issues, especially neurological. Here's a website that talks about the amalgam fillings. www.preventionandhealing.com
