a year back me and my friend went out and while walking on street fast he suddenly punched me hard in my stomach, which did hurt worst for 10 to 14 seconds (the pain i can say the worst ever pain i had in my life) it was exactly near the backbone of upper stomach near where ribs are joined together. i went into hospital to check up they did ultrasound but everything was fine, but by that day i always kept feeling of uncomfortable in that area, sometimes i have lot of burps after that. what organ must have got hurt? and what shall i do?

  • The fact that you have lots of burping leads me to think there is some sort of stomach or intestine problems going on. Keep a diet journal with what you eat, exactly and when the symptoms occur noting the time of day and how long after and before eating they happen. Make sure you also note how close to bedtime you eat. If you keep a journal you may see a pattern. I mean certain foods may make it worse. Take the journal with you when you go to the doctor.

  • He could have injured your xyphoid process which is at the bottom of your sternum. A chiropractor who uses extremity techniques may be able to help.

  • You may need to see a doctor about the problem. If eating meat makes it worse there could be something going on with your digestion. Have you tried going back to being a vegetarian?
