I kind of want to get this off my chest (thou im kind of expecting blaze to come out and say something like 'i told you so").

The other week, when i was in the bush, sitting in one of my favourite places (at a cave enterance, I like to sleep in that cave). I realised I had something crawling on my top and looked down and there was a tick crawling up towards my neck. Fortunately it wasnt fatted up, so i dont think it had fed at all on me.

Lyme (borreliosis and those other things which some call lyme).. isnt in Australia where I live. (im kind of kicking myself now as I just scrapped the tick of me and threw it away.. I should of kept the thing and took it to my specialist).
We do have other tick carried things like rickettsia here thou and I have been tested for things like that and thou my specialist (who also conducts research studies) finds that half with my condition do test positive to rickettsia to one of the rickettsia species.. well i didnt.

Im almost convinced now that I probably have been bitten by a tick in the past in that place due to the amount of time Ive spent there.. (sleeping in that place etc). Im wondering if I have something they carry which hasnt been discovered yet.

(antibiotics do help me feel a little better thou i dont herx on them as such).

  • I was eaten by ticks on a regular basis as a child and I have no symptoms of Blaze's descriptions but when I go in for my next physical, I'll be sure and ask for the blood test any way.

  • I was bitten by a few ticks just last week. I wouldn't worry too much *unless* you begin to have symptoms (fever, rash, etc.). Then you should keep it in mind to tell the doctor.
