I have had a feeling of being strangled for 3 yrs now. I have been to many Docs. I had a partial thyroid removal, C4 thru C7 replaced, colonoscopy, endoscopy, barium swallow, Physical therapy (released pressure during traction), botox shots in the SC muscles. I'm taking Zanaflex, Vicodin, Nexium, and Cymbalta and Nothing is helping. If I lay down for a few mins it stops hurting, but I can't lay down forever. I do have a difficult time swallowing at times and the strangling feeling makes me want to cough at times. This is a Very scary feeling. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is causing this or any test to take to find out what is going on? Please help!!

  • It could be psychological maybe?.. You could try regression and ask the hypnotherapist to go to the time when the problem was caused. The pain usually go away when people know how they got it. I don't know if you believe in past lives, but even if you don't you should read the book "Many lives, many masters" by Dr. Brian Weiss. He is a psychiatrist who use hypnosis on patients to make them go back to the time when the anxiety or physical pain started. He was, however, shocked when one of his patients said the pain came from something that had happened in their previous life. Doubtful to the phenomenon he continued to explore this type of therapy and does it still, because it works. People just need to know how they got the pain, and then it will disappear. Give it a try even if it sounds silly.Best wishes
