i was quickly diagnosed with restless leg syndrome about 10 years ago and put on drug for seizures. i have gone thru many many tests including a muscle biopsy. which all of course came back normal except an mri of my lower back which showed a disc or a bulge so long ago i cant remember. anyway i would like to know if anyone was misdiagnosed with restless leg this is driving me nuts litterly and i am in pain everyday of my life. sometimes i just wish someone would end the suffering please. i know when my legs are going to hurt all night because i get lower back pain first. my feet get ice cold. and then walah i am awake all night in pain. if i sit for a long time its my legs if i stand for a long time my lower back hurts. thank god for job that i can sit and stand . just for the lack of sleep. no medicine is working now not even tylenol 3. i go thru bottles and bottles of sleeping pills and motrin and nothing is working. i take the sleeping pills hoping i will just pass out already.

  • Restless legs dosen't do all that. You have been taking that med this long and it hasn't been helping?? My guess would be its a problem with your spine, the disc pushing on a nerve, and possibley cutting off circulation.. You could also be deficiant in some minerals , magnasium for one. Are you saying the mri was done 10 yrs ago?? You could have other spinal problems going on in that time. I have alot of back problems, and when my sciatica flares, I can't sit or stand very much.. Please go to an Ortho get new Mri's & xrays so you can get the right treatment. theres a site called spineuniverse , do a search for the exact addy and see if that tells you more.

  • If your sleeping pills contain diphenhydramine (generic for benadryl) they can mimic restless leg syndrome by causing muscle twitching and possible seizures..if you look up the side effects of it, you'll see...just a thought????
