I don't think I got the right diagnosis

At first I got cold like symptoms. Just running nose and sore throat then everything went away. A few days later the symptoms returned with a very sore thorat. I looked at my throat and it had blisters and my tonsils were purple. I went to the doctor and he did a strep test so I know I dont have tonsilitis. He said I had mono but I haver no other symptoms of mono at all. Im not tired or weak. My thorat is just very sore and Im losing my voice. It hurts the very back of my toungue where it goes down my thorat when I swallow. And where the adams apple should be on a girl is very sore and when i tilt my head back of lean it forward i choke from the pressusre on my throat. Any ideas?
