I don't know

I've been to the doctor a few times for my strange symptoms and they all tell me that it's nothing . They affect my life everyday and I'm always afraid I might not wake up in the morning.
It started after I gave birth to my second son, 13 months ago. I had a c-section, that was uneventful , except that the doctor jabbed me in a nerve when they put in the spinal. Doctors have told me that is not an issue. So anyways, I started working out after 5 weeks, and had a bit of neck and upper back pain. I figured it would go away. Well then I noticed one day that my vision was not quite right, and a few days after that I had sensitivity to light and tingling in my face and foot. I figured I must be getting a migraine, so I took some advil and lay down. Well the weird vision problems never went away. I had this strange feeling in my head, almost like being dizzy, or light headed. Things that move too fast bother my eyes, and bright lights.
About three weeks later I discovered I had a lump on the back of my neck. then I started having really bad neck pains, tingling in my left arm , and my eyes became red. About a month later I was having pains in my arms like the blood was trapped or something, and then my veins began to all become much more noticeable. It started in my arms, but now it's all over my body. I also have spontaneous bruising. On my arms, I also have blotchiness.
I began seeing the chiropractor , which has helped with the neck pain, but all the other symptoms are still around, and it has been almost a year. Lately the funny feeling in my head is worse, and it seems as though my vision is getting worse as well. The other day I also had bruising along one of the especially dark veins in my arm.
I've also been gaining weight lately, and I always have spotting between my periods. ALso, the past month I've been having constant muscle twitches in my right eye.I'm not sure if this matters, but I also have a weird line that runs across my toenails on my big toes, kind of like the nail stopped growing for a second there. I should probably also mention that I've noticed that my two little boys (2 and 1 years old) also get an abnormal amount of bruises, and in weird areas where they wouldn't normally bump something.
Everytime I go to the doctor they give me a routine blood test , and every time it comes back normal . I'm not sure what I should do anymore. I've been to a neurologist and he said I was fine and probably just under stress!
Any thoughts or input would be very much appreciated.

  • I hate to be repetitive, and this is a long shot, but please try this: 1. Over one of your bruises or swollen neck area or over swollen veins in arm, or over the whole toe and nail : put an even coating of vaseline about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and watch the area for 2-3 minutes to see if the vaseline shows a pattern or an imprint (especially if the "imprint" clears off an area of broken skin). Certain "tiny pests" will "come out" if you cover their breathing space. Wipe the vaseline off carefully and dispose of it. If you do see a change in the vaseline, let me know by posting back. You may be able to try your eyelid if you are careful.

  • well i think you have a couple of options. you could get blood drawn and see if you have some kind of vasculitis, and see if your platelet count is ok they can look at your white blood cells too and see if you have an inflammatoy condition. the other thing to remember is that you had a baby and surgery. that is a lot on the body and hormones are not normal. have you had your thyroid checked? are they sure you did not a reaction to spinal anethesia (unlikely) . the other thing to do is get yourself a good attorney- believe me, he'll find out if this is from the doctor's oops.

  • My blood counts always come back normal, and I've had 3 tests over the past year. My clotting is always normal as well. I'm going to the doctor tonight, and he'll probably try to tell me again that there's nothing wrong with me, but I know that something isn't right; whether it's something small or otherwise. I think the problem is that everyone seems to want to seperate my symptoms , instead of looking at them all as a whole.

  • I just thought I might as well mention...We found mold in our bathroom in our apartment. There was always a strange odor in there, but then our landlord came and fixed the tiles and drywall that was affected, and the odor went away for awhile. I went and took a look while it was being fixed and the drywall was all black , and the insulation underneath was black as well. They replaced the drywall but not the insulation. So now we've noticed that the smell is back. How bad IS mold? I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it couldn't be causing my symptoms. Does anyone know anything about this?

  • Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a mold detection kit (about $10 and $30 for the labwork). Put it in your bathroom for a couple of days with some of the mould and then send it off to the lab. They will let you know what type of mold it is. Then search the web for the type(s) of mold in the apt. Then be prepared to be terrified. Fungus (mould) can cause all kinds of symptoms and disease. I would move without hesitation. My son and I lived in an apt in Hawaii. After 6 weeks, we were so ill. I don't know how I managed but I moved us into a hotel. We have been ill ever since (almost a 1.5 years now) with no diagnosis. I wish I had known about the kits before I moved out. Also, buy a book by Douglas A. Kaufmann. He has several including The Germ that Causes Cancer (yes he is referring to fungus/mould) and The Fungus Link. Good luck.
