Hi, my name is kipper, and I am new here. About a year ago, I began a year of continuous illnesses. I have had pneumonia, kidney infection, kidney stone, several ear infections. One was a fungus infection on my right ear. The ENT put medicine inside my ear. At the start of this I was diagnosed with goiter with multiple nodules(also I have hashimotos). I am currently on .50 synthroid. A month ago, I went to the doctor with sores in my nose. The culture came back as staph aureus( heavy growth) that is resistant to the penicillans, erthyomycins, and probably clindomycin. I took Bactrim for 8 days. Two days off of the medication, I woke up with my left ear hurting so badly I was unable to chew or close my jaw. I went to the ENT and I have a boil deep inside my ear. I am on another 10 days of bactrim. Now, I have a new symptom, my right eyelid is drooping. I noticed this in the past 2 or 3 weeks. I had blood tests to check my immune system. I even got an HIV test. I am scheduled for an MRI next Tuesday to specifically check the brain stem and sinuses and to rule out Multiple sclerosis.
I am suffering tremendously and have been putting my affairs in order. So, what does it hurt to ask for some input and advice. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Sounds like Bactrim toxicity.

  • Did your side effects ever clear up? Its kind of sad to see all of these people having such serious problems and never hearing the end result.
