I suffered from what I suspected to be a parasitic infection, my list of illnesses is long but not until today have I been able to prove that I in fact DO have a roundworm, most likely S. Strongyloides.

I urge anyone who has been turned away by doctors, dismissed, made to feel crazy, and all tests are coming back negative, to get some agur at a health food or learning supply store and petri dishes to conduct a very simple and VERY effective test.

prepare your agar and spread a bit of fresh stool on it. place the lid on and store in a darkened space for a 2-3 days. look up agar testing for strongyloides and follow procedure.

This is the ONLY method that will get my son and me the help we so desperately need. Please let me know if you wish for additional details on my own symptoms and definitely write to share results!

Best of luck!

  • Jennifer, I know it's been a couple of months since you first posted, but I AM interested in learning additional details on your symptoms. I came down with a very bad viral infection (bronchitis? pneumonia?) in late May. I was only on an antibiotic for 4 days and had to stop taking it due to bad side effects. Since that time, I've suffered from anxiety (thankfully, this has subsided), food sensitivities, urinary tract infections, and continued weight loss. Now I have yeast overgrowth.

How are you doing? Have you been able to get an effective treatment since getting a diagnosis of S. Strongyloides?

  • Thanks Jennifer. Last summer I had tremendous pain in my lower abdomen and had to poop every 15 min or so, although not much ever came out. My Dr sent me to urologist for $2,000 worth of cat scans and they didn't find anything. On a hunch, he gave me a bag of pills and 3 days later I was fine. It was a parasite and I don't know which one as he gave me a broad spectrum treatment. I just got it again, I believe from eating an undercooked hamburger, same symptoms and he gave me Metronadizole 500 mg. Its only been 1 day but I am starting to feel better
