Hi I'm 25 male. I have unilateral swelling of the neck and head on the left side. the swelling is sometimes accompanied by a severe headache localized also on the left side. When the headache is worse, the swelling is worse. People have started to notice. I have had a CT scan for the headaches and swelling, and they said there was an "abnormal amount of fluid" present on the left side of my head. Then, they told me I had sinitus and gave me antibiotics. It is two months later and I am getting worse. Someone please help me

  • Yes I have been using a cell phone for a few years on the affected side. Why would this effect me and not everyone else I know that uses a cell phone? Thank you for your reply...I will look into your references

Request an MRI. Keep going back and don't stop until you get someone to listen to you.It took me two years to get a diagnosis for a heart condition which easily treatable. I went to the ER eleven times in 2007 and finally got diagnosed. Persistence and making noise is sometimes the only way to get answers.Don't give up.

  • Very rarely, swelling is caused by a condition called hereditary angioedema.

  • Do you have any tooth problems? Have you had your wisdom teeth out? When was the last time you were at the dentists? Dental problems may be causing this, I would rule this out. Find another doctor if the original one isn't helping (doesn't sound like they are). There is definitely something wrong - don't give up or let them shrug you off! Best wishesDOM

  • I have had severe migraines for years. I have been to some good specialists who assure me that swelling is a normal symtom of severe migraine. I have had swelling of my face and neck before. I would seek out and find a neurologist that specialises in migraine.
